MMS Government Arts and Science College Malayinkeezhu was established in the name of famous poet, Madhava Panicker in 2014. The first Bhagavat Gita that Malayalam language received is through Madhava Panicker. Madhava Panicker came to Malayinkeezhu as part of some temple related activities and he was captivated by the scenic beauty of this place. Thus he gradually became a permanent resident of this area. While residing here, he became engaged in literary works.
It was considered that (Jananappanuval) Bhaasshabhagavatgita was written on the blessing of Thiruvallabha and is counted as the noblest among the translation of Gita. The poet had pictured Malayinkeezhu equal to Amaravathy. Without losing its originality and meaning it had been summarized and translated to 328 stanzas. This is today considered as the first translation of Gita. Among the Kannasa trio, Malayinkeezhu Madhava Panicker stands unique as a polestar in Malayalam literature.
